Sensory Intelligence — The Fine Line Between Enjoyment & Overwhelm

This is something I’ve always enjoyed/been overwhelmed by.

I love touching and seeing fabrics — they bring me deep delight and a physical feeling of pleasure! That’s probably why I was so determined to become a fashion buyer.

Now I no longer work in that industry but I still get my sensorial needs met in different ways.

One of those is redesigning my home. Making it sensorially supportive and pleasurable - I’m talking soft velvets, deep rich colours or the bright white clarity of a minimal room.

Today I got these sofa swatches through and I cannot explain the delight and excitement it brought. It’s in the colours, the textures, the way the light bounces off, the “3D”ness. To me it’s like a language that speaks to me.

Not everyone gets what I’m feeling and why - they might dismiss it. However if you are a deeply sensual/sensorial person then you know what I mean I’m sure!

What delights your senses that others might find wierd or just don’t get (because you are wired differently!)?

Thinking of working with me but not sure how just yet?
