Do You Get Told You Are Too Brainy, Too Sensitive, Or Too Much?

This is why you may be feeling isolated and lonely...

Do you have a lot to say about a lot of different subjects and topics? A lot of complex and interrelated — as well as seemingly unrelated thoughts and strange connections? Do others maybe call you ‘weird’ or ‘quirky’ as a result? Or — alternatively — do you try to keep your thoughts to yourself, just silently in your head because other people have said you are too much?

Have you been told to stop waffling and going on and on about things? Have you learnt that others don’t appreciate or welcome that chatty side of you and that they get fed up with you?

It’s sad when we realise we can’t express our full authentic selves with our loved ones or friends. Do you wish you could be free to simply allow your thoughts and feelings to come out fully without having to restrain or suppress yourself?

If you need somewhere to express and share your full self then maybe 2e/gifted coaching and mentoring is the safe space you have been seeking. In my sessions with my clients, they can free all parts of themselves whether it's the joyful child or tortured soul, the wounded lover, or the pioneering thought leader.

All parts are welcome and there is the capacity to hold all of their wonderful, complex, deep, rich inner world with love, compassion and curiosity.

Remember: There are no bad parts of us. It’s just that sometimes the world makes you feel that way because they can’t handle your unique greatness! Seeking to understand yourself and the other person is what makes a difference.

There is hope!

Different thinkers often feel isolated and lonely because most people don’t understand them. For our well-being and mental health, it’s vital to meet our need to feel connected and have a sense of belonging. This can be through our own specific interests and hobbies such as art, music, dancing groups, etc.

But also it is important to meet our gifted/2e/neurodivergent/multi potentialites’ specific need to be mirrored by other people. Today, I thought to share with you some wonderful spaces I recommend you/your neurodivergent loved ones check out to potentially find other like-minded humans to connect with:

The Intergifted community was set up by Jennifer Harvey Sallin. They have a dynamic online community of 850+ gifted adults around the world. Together, they explore questions and themes of giftedness integration, self-development and self-leadership. Their members are conscientious, dedicated gifted adults who are actively learning about and applying their giftedness to their lives in creative and purposeful ways. Here, you can meet other gifted adults who are invested in their personal and professional growth, and who are ready to connect with other equally dedicated and engaged gifted adults.

The Octopus Movement is a community set up by Perry Knoppert as a place for all free thinkers, innovators and change-makers to connect and embrace each other's atypical thinking.

Mindvalley is a personal and professional development platform, and while their community section is not gifted/ND specific, it does attract those of us who love to keep on learning and developing ourselves.

Happy exploring...
